Real Wedding: A Magical Iceland Celebration Filled With Pride and Adventure

When Jen and Kierstin matched on Bumble, neither could have predicted that their love story would lead them to one of the most breathtaking destinations on earth. But from the very beginning, their relationship was filled with adventure, surprise, and a willingness to embrace life’s most unforgettable moments.

Their proposal story was anything but ordinary. Kierstin first proposed while the couple was sailing through Greece on a cruise. Under a canopy of stars and during a meteor shower in the middle of the ocean, she asked Jen to spend forever with her. Not to be outdone, Jen had a surprise of her own. With the help of her best friend — the bride at an upcoming wedding — she orchestrated a second proposal. During the bouquet toss, the bride turned around and walked directly toward Kierstin, handing her the flowers as Jen dropped to one knee. The emotional moment was captured by the wedding photographer, preserving Kierstin’s shock and the couple’s overwhelming joy.

When it came time to plan their own wedding, the couple wanted a celebration that felt as epic as their love story. Iceland immediately captured their imagination. Kierstin, whose love of Nordic mythology is reflected in her tattoo sleeve, had long dreamed of visiting the country. As they explored the idea, they quickly realized there was no place more fitting for their wedding day.

Surrounded by dramatic landscapes, cascading waterfalls, and endless natural beauty, Jen and Kierstin exchanged vows in front of 28 of their closest friends and family members. Their intimate guest list consisted of the people who had supported them throughout their journey — their chosen family — and sharing such a meaningful experience with them made the celebration even more special.

While the setting was undeniably romantic, the couple also infused the wedding weekend with plenty of fun and personality. A disco-themed party bus transported guests through the Icelandic scenery, while a drag queen MC and performer brought energy, laughter, and unforgettable entertainment to the reception. The celebration perfectly balanced the awe-inspiring surroundings with the couple’s vibrant spirit and love of creating memorable experiences.

Rather than rushing home after the festivities, Jen and Kierstin extended the adventure. They spent two weeks exploring Iceland together, traveling the famous Ring Road in a cozy camper van. From remote landscapes to quiet moments beneath expansive skies, the newlyweds embraced the peaceful beauty of the country at their own pace.
