"Late-night snacks are so fun! Especially if you're at a more formal event eating steak, chicken, or fish, by the time you've danced and celebrated all night, you're ready for that delicious comfort food bite to regain some energy and sustain you for the rest of the party. Late-night snacks allow our true selves to come out. When you arrive, you’re dressed to the nines, hair perfect, Instagram-ready. The late-night snack says, hey, this is me at my most authentic." —Ryan Van Tuyl, Founder, Burt's Burgers
Here are some of our favorite ideas:
Pizza, Chicago-style or Otherwise. "We're partial to a slice of deep dish (we are based in Chicago, after all), but a gourmet flatbread station with custom toppings is also a winner." —Michelle Durpetti, Founder, Durpetti Events
Slider + Fries. "A go-to option you can't go wrong with is gourmet sliders, fries, shakes, n' pies! We're of course partial, but we think we've perfectly covered every base for every person. However, objectively, not one person in their life has ever seen a taco cart and been sad, that’s for sure. If you're looking for a small bite, fries are a lifesaver. For more exotic options, authentic empanadas or handmade pizza is out of this world." —Ryan Van Tuyl, Founder, Burt's Burgers
Italian Bomboloni or Cannoli Bar. "For our couples with Italian roots — or destination weddings in Italy — we love a sweet option like freshly filled cannoli or warm bomboloni dusted with sugar. In the states this is also popular as a walking station — 'the cannoli guy' who carries a tray and makes your cannoli as you stand there!" —Michelle Durpetti, Founder, Durpetti Events
Breakfast-for-Late-Night. "Mini chicken and waffles or a build-your-own biscuit station bring the comfort and surprise factor guests love. I am also a huge fan of mini breakfast sandwiches because I love me a sausage, egg and cheese!" —Michelle Durpetti, Founder, Durpetti Events
Espresso Martini Bar or Affogato Cart. "Technically a drink, but nothing says 'we’re not done partying' like a chic little caffeine boost to go with your gelato. We’ve done these as carts also and they have been so fun!” —Michelle Durpetti, Founder, Durpetti Events
Food Trucks. "Food trucks are all the rage! In & Out is always a fan favorite in Southern CA especially if the guests are from a state without the truck! Just make sure you book it far in advance as they sell out." —Cathy O'Connell, Co-Founder, COJ Events
Waffle Bar. "Mini waffles with assorted toppings: chicken, bacon, cheese sauces, sweets — the sky's the limit!" —Cathy O'Connell, Co-Founder, COJ Events
Mini Pairings: "Tray-passed mini-espresso martini shots with mini donuts" and "mini-tomato soup shots with grilled cheese toppers." —Cathy O'Connell, Co-Founder, COJ Events
“In regard to logistical or timing tips couples should consider, it will, of course, depend on the length of your event, but we love a late-night snack timed perfectly for when the band is taking their break before the last big set of dance music... or if there's an after-party, 100% do your late-night snack at the after-party as a way to make sure the party goes all night long." —Ryan Van Tuyl, Founder, Burt's Burgers
"Late-night wedding snacks are such a fun opportunity to showcase the culture of the families joining together through marriage. From true American gourmet burgers n' fries, to tacos, to empanadas, to authentic Sicilian pizza, late night is where you invite your guests into what your life and culture is all about." —Ryan Van Tuyl, Founder, Burt's Burgers
