Tip of the Day: Never invite more people to your wedding than your venue or budget will allow (in the hopes that they won't attend!). "You can expect that 10 - 20% of invited guests will decline to attend but don't underestimate your family and friends' desire to be there for your wedding day," says Janel Grant of Janel Elise Events.

Tip of the Day: If you want to include a pet such as a beloved dog in your special day, it might be worth investing in a pet sitter. "There is peace of mind when you know your sweet pup is well cared for throughout the day and makes it into the portrait sesson," says Twah Dougherty of Style Art Life.

You and your prince charming have said “I do,” and now you can live like a king and queen when you check into an honest-to-goodness palace.
Tip of the Day: "MC stands for Master of Ceremonies. He or she will ultimately control the progression of the evening and will be the liaison between your band and your guests. Whether you decide to choose a trusted family-friend or your band, make sure his or her personality is in sync with the energy you've imagined. An experienced MC can help eloquently escort you and your guests through the event and make sure everything runs smoothly!," says Tori Fuson of the Bay Kings Band.

Tip of the Day: Consider the hidden costs of getting married in a church. "After all, they are a business too!" says celebrity event planner Donnie Brown. He recommends reading the fine print on what kind of music is allowed, what you can decorate and where your photographer will be able to stand (if they are isolated to the rear balcony, they may not have a good vantage point for the ring exchange).

Tip of the Day: "The best weddings showcase a variety of music for all ages to join in and dance together! It's completely acceptable to go from 'Shout' by the Isley Brothers right into 'Party Rock Anthem' by LMFAO," says Gabi Lungu, a wedding coordinator and proposal coach at Stowe Mountain Lodge.

To kick off bridal market season, Bridal Guide was invited to attend the 30th annual DEBI (Distinctive Excellence in the Bridal Industry) Awards, a glamorous night of dinner and dancing at The Chicago Field Museum. Hundreds of designers and retailers gathered in black-tie attire to honor the best and brightest in the bridal industry. The gala was hosted by singer and Tony Award-winning actress Laura Benanti. We watched the nominees’ stunning designs float down the runway and enjoyed good drinks and great company as we waited for the winners’ to be revealed.
