Tip of the Day: Visit your outdoor ceremony site in advance to test just how blinding the sun will be from different angles during your wedding. You don’t want to squint while you’re saying your vows, so your planner may have to switch the position of where you'll be standing.

50 Unexpected Ways to Decorate with Greenery

From cascading eucalyptus and ivy adornments to wreaths of myrtle and swags of fern, foliage is the new flower. Not only does greenery transform the plain to the lavish and lush, but it’s also more cost-friendly than your standard florals. Inspiring Ideas for Your Wedding Décor

A fantastic book on entertaining and décor came across my desk recently. Designing Life’s Celebrations (Rizzoli New York, 2016, $50), by noted florist and event planner DeJuan Stroud, was co-written with his wife and business partner, Debra. It features gorgeous photographs by Monica Buck and is a great read for anyone who loves entertaining at home and appreciates the wow factor of a beautifully designed table.

Tip of the Day: If you’re planning a garden wedding, ask about having a solid walkway laid down so that everyone's heels don’t sink into the soft, grassy ground.

Tip of the Day: "Most brides I chat with post-wedding who didn't book a videographer regret their decision! They may rationalize it by thinking, 'I'll never watch the video' or 'It will just collect dust.' However, most videographers now include a five to seven-minute highlight reel, which is a blast to watch now and then as a constant reminder of the love you felt on your wedding day," says Miranda Tassi from Chancey Charm Charlotte.

"Later in life, some of the people from your wedding might not be around anymore. The wedding video serves as a nice reminder to see them, hear their voice, and share them with your children," she adds.
