This week’s guest blog post comes from Danny Chaimson of Gold Coast Events. With wildly successful bands in Chicago (Gold Coast Allstars, The Chicago Players) and Southern California (Golden Coast Allstars), these all-star groups consist of impressive major label talent and the best artists in the music scene.
Tip of the Day: "If you have a bigger guest list than you hoped for and want to cut it down, send out your save-the-date six months in advance instead of the typical nine to 12 months. This gives some of your guests less time to make that date available for your wedding, as they may have already made other plans. Of course, be sure that the key people you want there already have your date on their calendar!" says Jamie Bohlin from Cape Cod Celebrations.

You'll all have a great time learning something new together," says Aviva Samuels from Kiss the Planner.

Warm, welcoming, and suddenly, seemingly everywhere, it wouldn’t be an overstatement to declare copper the rose-gold of housewares. Copper lends itself to any décor or palette, whether your taste runs to cozy-cabin chic or stark minimalism. Plus, the metal plays nicely with others, from stainless to pewter, zinc, and brass. Here, a few of our key copper cravings.

Tip of the Day: "If your venue/caterer/rental company offers different size tables (for example, 60” or 72” round tables), opt for the larger table. It will save you money because you can fit more guests at larger tables, which eliminates the need for an additional centerpiece, table number, votive candles, menus, linens, tables and any other décor you want to place on each table," says Danielle Pasternak from DPNAK Weddings.

Tip of the Day: "Think of your wedding celebration as a kind of story or journey, and create a dynamic 'soundtrack' of music to accompany the festivities. I recommend combining elements of live and recorded music," says Karen Bussen, author of the Simple Stunning Weddings series and exclusive wedding designer for Palladium Hotels and Resorts.
"Start simple at the ceremony with a trio of guitars, a classical organ, or a single violin. Cocktail hour is the best time to feature any unusual or alternative sounds you want to hear on your big day. (It's also a great time to layer in local music if you're hosting a destination wedding.) For the rest of the celebration, focus on tracks, beats and melodies that will get the whole crowd up on the dance floor with you!"
