Tip of the Day: "Think of your wedding celebration as a kind of story or journey, and create a dynamic 'soundtrack' of music to accompany the festivities. I recommend combining elements of live and recorded music," says Karen Bussen, author of the Simple Stunning Weddings series and exclusive wedding designer for Palladium Hotels and Resorts.

"Start simple at the ceremony with a trio of guitars, a classical organ, or a single violin. Cocktail hour is the best time to feature any unusual or alternative sounds you want to hear on your big day. (It's also a great time to layer in local music if you're hosting a destination wedding.) For the rest of the celebration, focus on tracks, beats and melodies that will get the whole crowd up on the dance floor with you!"

Tip of the Day: "So many savvy couples want to do all the planning on their own (which is awesome), but then get stressed out about making sure everything is executed flawlessly on the big day. Hiring a day-of coordinator can be the best investment you make for your wedding," says Carla Friday of Details Made Simple in Westfield, NJ. They'll handle all the details, manage vendors, set up and style your wedding, finish any last-minute tasks and solve any issues that may arise, giving you priceless peace of mind.

Tip of the Day: "We all love champagne, but limiting the reception toast to just the bride and groom can save a chunk of cash. With an average guest list of 140, you would save approximately $420 by not having a reception-wide toast," says Chris Easter, groom-centric wedding and etiquette expert, co-founder of TheManRegistry.com.

Tip of the Day: Start the process of booking airfare for your honeymoon six to eight months before departure. Flights can be the most difficult — and expensive — to switch, which is why having dates and hotels mapped out is key.

Booking online is by far the most economical way to go. For carrier comparisons and real-time price fluctuations go to Google Flights. This relatively new online and mobile tool also gives various date and airport options based on price. Reservations are made directly with the airlines so you can still use your miles and other rewards.
