Get the Look: Jessica Simpson's Wedding Gown

After waiting four years to get married — and having two kids together — Simpson yearned for a wedding that was anything but traditional, and her dress was no exception. The fashion-mogul bride wore a custom couture Carolina Herrera champagne gown with delicate gold embroidery, describing her wedding-day look as "romantic, ethereal and chic."

Despite getting into incredible post-baby shape, the Weight Watchers spokesperson didn't flaunt her figure in a mermaid silhouette, like we had expected. Her Carolina Herrera choice was unexpected and that's why she loved it. "I can't help but want a princess dress! I'm a Southern girl at heart. I like everything big!" she explains to People. Another super-sized aspect of their wedding was the bridal party: Simpson had 12 bridesmaids and two maids of honor. She outfitted them in different designer gowns in a range of pastel hues from seafoam to blush.

When the bride walked down the aisle, "she was all lit up and beautiful. I think my heart was exploding a bit," the groom reveals. (Check out these 45 emotional grooms' reactions.) Shortly thereafter, Johnson suffered a wardrobe malfunction when he bent down to pick up son Ace and he split his John Varvatos tuxedo pants! Thankfully, they were fixed in time for the reception.

After the reception ended at 10 p.m., the bride changed into a sexy silvery blue Zuhair Murad minidress from a past collection.
