Bridesmaids are having so much fun coming up with creative themes for bridal showers. In particular, movie-inspired get-togethers are especially trendy. The bride’s favorite movie or actress becomes the foundation of the party and can inspire everything from the décor to the menu, culminating in a special day she'll love.

1. Breakfast at Tiffany's
So what’s the most popular bridal shower theme of all time? That would be Breakfast at Tiffany’s, of course! All of the 'maids could wear their cutest LBDs, big black sunglasses, pearls, and upswept hair.
Your color scheme would be Tiffany blue, which you could incorporate into your tablecloths and napkins. For fun décor accents on your table settings, I love pretty floral cameras from Kodak to snap photos of all your guests. For the ultimate showstopper, design your cake to look like the iconic little blue box.
A fabulous favor for your Audrey-themed party is the new book So Audrey: 29 Ways to Put a Little Hepburn in Your Step, by Cindy De La Hoz, Running Press ($8.79, amazon.com). This budget-friendly tome is filled with fantastic quotes from the style icon and movie legend herself.
2. Alice in Wonderland
For sweet inspiration, steal a tip from Real Housewife of Beverly Hills star Taylor, who used candy-colored décor for her daughter’s birthday party. Eye-catching trays, candies and colorful fabrics were set up outdoors for the festivities. You can recreate the same look for less (Taylor's party reportedly cost $40,000!) by setting up vintage-chic teapots and apothecary jars filled with different candies.
3. Pretty in Pink
Go for the gusto with all-pink décor, flowers, cake, cupcakes, and attire (request that your guests wear this hue in the invite.) Create the girlie party of a lifetime, even if the bride only recently discovered the movie. This theme is a fave for brides in their 30s and 40s as well, so don’t count out Brat Pack films! Instead of playing traditional bridal shower games, ask guests trivia questions from the film. Here’s my fun tip for those in-the-know: favors can be little rubber duckies.
4. The Great Gatsby

Create a '20s vibe for your party by transporting guests to Long Island's North Shore. Host the party outdoors, preferably in a gauzy white tent (pool optional). Set the mood for a swingin' good time by playing the movie on mute in the background and invite guests to dress in era-appropriate costumes.
5. Beauty and the Beast
For a fun twist, bring in beauty experts — such as makeup artists, brow-shapers, manicurists and massage therapists — to give guests treatments during the party. No games, just gorgeous beauty rituals for Belle brides. The swag bags can include mini beauty products, like lip balms and bright nail polish.
