Just one day after Jeff Osbourne met bridal designer Brittany Castanos, he convinced her to join him on a spontaneous vacation to Mexico. When they began planning their wedding four years later, they knew it would need to have the same free-spirited energy that led them to fall in love with each other on that trip. “We wanted to get married in the middle of nowhere,” the bride says. “No buildings, no traffic. Just natural beauty, golden sunsets and fresh air.” Together with their guests, they traveled to a secluded meadow in California for a music festival-inspired wedding complete with live performances from Brothers NYC, a New York-based rock band.

A handmade sign directed guests to various activities. Brit’s sister, an artist, also drew custom invitations and RSVP cards for the bride and groom that featured an illustrated map with directions to the wedding location.

Guests spent the weekend camping in fully furnished canvas tents and lounging in bohemian teepees, which were decorated with Moroccan lanterns, vintage rugs and leather couches.

Guests embraced the festival vibe of the weekend with activities like hiking, archery and craft projects. On the big day, they were treated to cocktails in the meadow.

The couple’s cake, a fig-topped cheesecake garnished with real flowers, was made by the bride’s mother. To celebrate their love of travel, the couple placed two elephant figurines in front of their cake.
