Tip of the Day: Hosting a multi-day celebration? Make it clear when guests will be expected to pay for their own expenses.

The best way to do this is through invitation or wedding website wording. For instance: "On Friday evening, we'll head out to a country bar for drinks and dancing. See the menu, drinks list and pricing at (website.)" When guests see the word "pricing" mentioned, they'll know to bring their wallets. When guests see that an event is hosted by you or someone in the wedding party, the message conveys that the hosts are paying.

Tip of the Day: The standard ballroom not your style? New York City-based tabletop and event designer Tammy Carmona recommends finding a location that's meaningful to you. "One of my brides wanted to get married in the same castle where her mother married. The place was no longer in use, but with enough persistance, we were able to secure permission to do the wedding there. It brought back a lot of happy memories for her mom," she reveals.

Tip of the Day: Have a piece of art made just for your wedding. Ceci Johnson, the couture designer behind Ceci New York, tells us that she painted a watercolor for one of her brides who lived on the California coast and she used it on the invitation liner. Another great option is to hire a painter or sketch artist to immortalize your first dance or bridal portrait in your gown, which you can hang in the walls of your new home and treasure for decades to come.
