Our editors attended Spring/Summer 2025 New York Bridal Fashion Week to bring you the top trends to look out for this shopping season.
By: Rachel CapoFrom a graffiti artist spray painting dresses at Justin Alexander Signature, to a real marriage proposal during the Galia Lahav show, this season was filled with surprises — and that includes the new collections. With reimagined classics like basque waist silhouettes and newer adornments like bows and rosettes, the trends show a return to feminine details and softer elements. 2025 brides, scroll through for a breath of fresh air.
Basque Waist
Drop waist gowns have been growing in popularity for several years, but this is the first time we've seen her French cousin, the basque waist, become *the* hot silhouette of the year. Basque waists extend down below the natural waistline or skirt in a V-shape with a close conoured fit. We like to think that bridal designers have been inspired by the resurgance of period pieces with epic costume design such as Bridgerton and The Gilded Age, like we have. From sexy sheer styles to romantic lace iterations, this ultra-flattering waistline creates a high-fashion moment every time.
Bridal Bows
Sweet, adorable, and totally romantic, bows aren't new to bridal, but were certainly abound on this season's runways. From dramatic bow veils and backs, to cute coquettish bow embellishments, there's no denying this trends' flirty charm.
Clean Lines
Craving a clean, classic look? The '90s minimalism reminiscent of Carolyn Bessette-Kennedy's wedding dress still stuns more than 25 years later. Exquisite tailoring treatments, updated fabrications and cool silhouettes make this timeless trend totally modern and well, vibey.
Romantic Rosettes
Rosettes are having a moment this season; from delicate flowers dotting necklines to bold blooms adorning organza skirts. Not sure this '90's-esque trend is for you? Try a cool flower choker or a romantic rosette veil or hair pin.
3D Floral Embellishments
Unique floral embellishments cascaded down and seemed to literally leap off the dresses in this season's collections, highlighting the work and craftmanship that goes into creating these textured appliqués. This dreamy and whimiscal trend totally captured our hearts this season.
The Spring/Summer 2025 collections will hit bridal retailers in July 2024. Happy shopping!
