From dramatic Bridgerton-esque ruffles to chic, minimalist looks, the Spring 2022 NYBFW collections did not disappoint.
By: Rachel CapoNew York Bridal Fashion Week is finally here and we're virtually thrilled! While we miss zipping around the city and ogling stunning gowns in person, we appreciate how bridal designers made it possible to view their new collections from the comfort and safety of our homes. Our fashion editors streamed gorgeous runway shows and viewed beautiful online presentations to bring you a sneak peek of our favorite bridal trends for 2022. Scroll on for some exciting bridal newness!
Dramatic Ruffles
Call it a coincidence, but we choose to believe that the resurgence of Regency-era designs means that bridal designers are as obsessed with Netflix series Bridgerton as we are. Bold ruffles add texture and dimension to any silhouette, and are sure to turn heads. Channel the Duchess of Hastings on your wedding day with one of these 1800s-inspired gowns.
Bridal Minis
A trend that was hard to miss this year: bridal minis with MAJOR style. From courthouse nuptials to backyard micro-weddings, designers this year took a cue from pandemic brides and offered cropped hemlines. Show a little leg with our favorite short wedding dresses seen here.
Eye-Catching Lace
Unique lace patterns stood out on the bridal runways this season. From overblown florals to celestial motifs, modern fabrics caught our editors' eyes and captured their hearts. These gowns certainly offer a fresh take on lace.
Pretty in Pants
From jumpsuits to separates, pants ruled the virtual runways. Flattering, comfortable, and of-the-moment, these bridal separates offer a chic alternative to traditional bridal style (and can actually be worn again!).
Sleek Simplicity
Designers included a number of sleek, refined dresses in their collections this season. Think: sultry slip dresses, slinky gowns with slits, and chic minimalist sheaths. If you're searching for a sexy yet sophisticated wedding gown, here are some of our favorite new options.
Something Blue
We've seen lots of blush wedding gowns in years past, but seeing this dreamy hue was definitely something new. From pastel ball gowns to pretty printed details, these blue dresses may have you rethinking traditional wedding white.
