April showers don’t just bring May flowers — they also bring countless rainy days. Of course, it’s easy to stay in and waste away a cloudy, dreary day. Instead of being bored to tears, plan one of these 10 dates for a fun rainy day with your partner.

1. Binge-watch a TV series.
Maybe it’s the next season of a show you already love, or maybe it’s the first season of a new series you’ve absolutely dying to check out. Need a few suggestions? Season 2 of The Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt hits Netflix on April 15th, and How to Get Away With Murder premieres its second season the day after.

2. Go all out for movie night.
Curling up on the couch is always a great date idea, but if you want it to feel more like an event, actually go to the theater and stock up on your favorite snacks from the concession. A few flicks you want to catch in April include: Melissa McCarthy’s The Boss (April 8th), the magical The Huntsman: Winter’s War (April 22nd), the star-studded Mother’s Day (April 29th), and Key & Peele’s Keanu (April 29th).

3. Hang out in the kitchen.
Have fun cooking or baking something together! If the weather’s really a drag, challenge yourself to make something tasty using only ingredients you already have in the fridge. Our favorite cozy idea? Breakfast for dinner in bed, because it’s super fun and totally delicious.

4. Play board games.
Make your board game or card game a little more interesting with a bet: Whoever wins cooks dinner/cleans the bathroom/gets to pick where to go to brunch the next day. And strip poker is always an option!

5. Enjoy a show.
Whether it’s a fancy Broadway musical, an art opening, a brass band at a jazz bar, or your friend’s improv gig, get out of the house and get cultured! Just don’t pick an outside concert.

6. Do chores.
Okay, okay, we know — not really an exciting date idea. But doing chores is always more fun with a friend (and it goes a lot faster, too). Divide and conquer to get lots of little things done, or team up on a big project like painting a room or cleaning out the garage. Play some fun music in the background and promise yourselves a reward, like your favorite takeout or cocktails at a cozy bar later on.

7. Go shopping.
The mall is quite possibly the best place to spend a rainy day. Shop for stuff you need, pick out things for each other, enjoy a sweet treat, or just enjoy a worry-free shopping spree.

8. Think like a kid.
Remember how creative and excited you felt as a kid? Build a fort, try a new activity, throw a Spotify dance party in your living room, share ghost stories, and play Truth or Dare. Eat your favorite childhood treats like pizza and chocolate chip cookies. See where your imagination takes you!

9. Plan ahead.
Need to get that guest list in order? Been putting off planning your next trip together? Today is the perfect day to get it checked off your list and start dreaming of what’s to come.

10. Spend all day in bed.
No need to go through all the formalities of date night — just get to the good stuff!
