Although we'll never tire of crazy creative engagements — special effects and all — sometimes the sweetest proposal moments feature the couple in their natural surroundings and a little help from family members or friends.
Case in point: Police officer Dain Metcalfe teamed up with his girlfriend Auika Muragin's kindergarten class and co-workers to pull off the pop quiz of a lifetime! "I know our time together has been brief, but I've loved you since the first day I met you," he says during the proposal. "I know words or actions can convey how I feel about you, but I would love to spend every day for the rest of my life showing you exactly how much I love you."

The couple met in Kauai, Hawaii (where Metcalfe currently lives), and their week-long romance led to a long-distance relationship. Eight months later, Metcalfe flew to Oregon for Muragin's birthday to ask her to become his fiancée.
"When I saw the sign and saw him kneeling I went into complete shock," Muragin tells The Huffington Post. "Being a police officer, I have had to deal with plenty of situations that have been scary or nerve-wracking, yet that was the scariest thing I've ever done by far," Metcalfe says.
