The wedding day is just the beginning of your journey as husband and wife — what will your lives be like 20, 40 or even 60 years from now?
Kristie Scherrer and Tavis Douchette (both in their late 20s), set out to explore this question by participating in the "100 Years of Beauty: Aging" video series in collaboration with Field Day and Cut Video. One month before walking down the aisle, a team of makeup artists transformed them into what they might look like at ages 50, 70 and 90 using life-like prosthetics and old family photos for reference. Award-winning production company 1stAveMachine filmed their hilarious and touching reactions.
At age 50, the bride realizes that she's going to look just like her mother one day and the groom concedes that he needs to start wearing more sunscreen. When asked about the stereotypes of this age, they say they're already well on their way because they currently own a rescue pit bull and drive a Subaru. However, the prospect of being parents to a couple of teenagers by that time and participating in the PTA "sounds so weird!" Jokes over their thinning hair, unkempt eyebrows, and wrinkles aside, they can't help tearing up while imagining their kids, grandchildren and stories that they'll share over 60 years from now. "I would always just want to make sure he knew how much I loved him and how important he's been to me," Scherrer says. "You've made me a better person. There's so many things I couldn't be without you," Douchette shares.

The experiment was wildly entertaining, but more importantly, it reaffirmed that they are meant to be together. "There's some strange, comforting feeling seeing him this way. Being about to get married and embarking on all of that, I couldn't be more sure [sic] that this is what I want," Scherrer says.
Watch this sweet couple fall in love over and over again throughout the decades:
“We're hoping the video will make people reflect on their own life and the people that are close to them,” Blaine Ludy, Director of Cut Video, tells ABC News. “A lot of people are afraid to think about the future and getting old. It's not a bad thing; it's beautiful.” As of publication, the video has over 5.8 million views since being posted just four days ago.
The couple got married on May 16th in St. Louis. We wish them a lifetime of love, happiness, and good health!
