March 19th began as just another rainy, dreary workday for Megan Zahorec. The 27-year-old counselor at Greentown Intermediate school, in North Canton, Ohio was anxious about leading the quarterly fire drill that morning since she was still relatively new there. Even when the red fire truck pulled up and she spotted her boyfriend, firefighter Justin Deierling, climb out, she was too distracted by the duty at hand to realize the incredible reason why he was there. That is, until hundreds of students began screaming — when she finally looked up, she saw a banner that read "Ms. Z, will you marry me?"

“I was so surprised but I didn’t even have to think about it [accepting the proposal]. Just two months after being with him I couldn’t imagine life without him," the bride-to-be tells ABC News.

Watch her and the children's heartwarming reactions here!

Deierling had been secretly working on the proposal for two weeks with the help of the PTO president and the school principal. He met his now-fiancée six months earlier, while volunteering at the fire station and participating in a walk-a-thon that the school hosted.

"I knew instantly that she was someone special by the way that she interacted with the kids. I wanted to incorporate how we met and the kids, who she adores, into the proposal," he tells The Huffington Post. His brother, Adam, filmed the special moment and uploaded it to YouTube, where it has since gone viral.

The best part: The firefighters distributed 550 ring pops to the children so that they could celebrate the momentous occasion! Although the couple doesn't have a date set yet, the students were happy to offer up suggestions to the soon-to-be Mrs: "They are just so excited. They want me to get married in the gym and they want to be my flower girls and ring bearers. Or, if the weather's nice, they said maybe I should do it on the field," Zahorec tells ABC.

Congratulations to the happy couple!
