While classic weddings will always have a special place in our hearts, we couldn't stop buzzing about so-weird-they're-awesome nuptials in 2013 (bring on the celeb wedding crashers and Photoshop memes!). Check out the most unusual headlines that crossed our desks this past year.

10. Husband creates corn maze of wedding photo for wife on 50th anniversary
Some couples commemorate their golden anniversary by exchanging gifts, taking a romantic getaway or hosting a party with their family members and friends. Paul Derthick took a more unconventional approach — he constructed a maze through 17 acres of golden corn that resembled his 1963 wedding portrait!

"He did it with the kids. They kept it a secret," his wife Marie told Good Morning America. "It was at the end of June that I finally did find out. I thought they were nuts, but it's actually turned out very well." corn maze wedding anniversary gift

9. Canadian couple weds hanging off the edge of a tower, 116 stories above ground
Getting married is nerve-wracking enough, but Lacy Boland and John Kirk took their love to dizzying new heights when they became the first couple to get married on the EdgeWalk at Toronto's CN Tower, Canada's tallest structure.

"We always wanted a memorable wedding and what could be more exciting than to have it on EdgeWalk," said Boland and Kirk in a statement. "Our wedding seemed to be a distant dream as our three wonderful children have always come first. We feel truly blessed to be part of such a wonderful experience."

8. Bride and groom play guitar duet down the aisle
When you're a guitar teacher, you know your wedding guests are expecting some killer tunes at your wedding. Needless to say, groom Jordan Strauss delivered when he pulled out an electric guitar during his wedding ceremony and performed Pachelbel's "Canon in D."

The best part? When his bride Andrea made her grand entrance, she joined in, having learned how to play just in time for the big day! We wish the couple a lifetime of making sweet music together.

7. Wedding dress is re-worn 148 times (and counting)
If Jennifer Salvage’s wedding dress could talk, it would have some pretty wild travel stories to tell. It’s gone dog sledding in Iceland, paragliding in New Zealand, and even taken an under-the-sea dip in Maui. The gown’s been worn in 19 locations across six continents and has traveled a total of 147,500 miles.

Salvage brings it along to every vacation in a backpack as part of the "One Dress, One Woman, One World" photography project that she started with her husband, Jeff. "We love the idea of using up the dress, reliving our wedding over and over again," he says.

6. Celebrities help fans put a ring on it
It all started when "Scrubs" star Zach Braff helped Matt Hulbert propose to his girlfriend Janice in an adorable video that also starred all of her family members and friends urging her to "say yes!"

Then Jon Bon Jovi escorted Branka Delic down the aisle at her Las Vegas wedding. ("We're living on a prayer and we want you to come lay your hands on me and walk me down the aisle!" the Aussie super fan begged in an online petition.)

Just when we thought celebs were maxed out on ring duty, Aaron Paul from "Breaking Bad" and Justin Timberlake got in on the fun, too.

5. Honda crashes Irish wedding
Are you obsessed with your car? Mairead and Kevin are such big fans of Honda — together their families have owned over 20 Hondas — that they asked their local car dealer to loan them a few cars for bridal party transportation on their big day.

But the company had something much bigger in mind: They sent eight cars, each filled with an amazing surprise, including relatives from Ireland who previously couldn't attend the wedding!

4. Woman's "dream wedding" Pinterest board is brought to life
Groom Ryan Leak planned a surprise joint engagement/wedding to girlfriend Amanda Roman using her "Dream Wedding" Pinterest board as his guide, which contained over 200 photos featuring everything from bouquets to must-have photos.

"It helped me out tremendously...she planned the entire wedding without even knowing she planned the entire wedding," he says.

3. Newlyweds toss bouquet and garter from giant human slingshot
Natasha and Jake Johnson decided to fling themselves out of a human slingshot before making their bouquet and garter tosses! In case you're wondering where in the world you'd find such a contraption, their venue, Hobble Creek Lounge, already had the slingshot on premises.

"Jake and I joked around about me doing the human slingshot in my wedding dress but I thought, 'No way, it will ruin my dress,'" Natasha told HuffPost Weddings. "Well, I changed my mind the night before the wedding and said, 'Why not!'"

2. Bride intentionally sets herself on fire in wedding dress
Over the years, "trash the dress" sessions have become more popular — we've seen couples embrace underwater in their wedding attire, get into epic snowball fights and more.

But one Israeli bride, Natasha Samuel, took the trend too far when she had her photographer, Eric Simantov, douse her wedding gown in flammable liquid and set it on fire. He quickly snapped a photo and she ran into the ocean to extinguish the flames. Don't try this at home!

1. T-rex invades bridal party photos
James Lowder and Katie Young's Jurassic Park-inspired wedding photo took the Internet by storm, and it's easy to see why! Their photographer, Quinn Miller, suggested that they take a "joke shot" with their bridal party, posing as if they were running away from something. Using the magic of Photoshop, he added the dinosaur in later.

Hailed as "the best wedding photo ever" by the blogosphere, it was shared over 12,000 times on the photographer's official Facebook page.
