Flower Guide: Orchids

An orchid symbolizes beauty and refinement, making it an elegant choice for your wedding. There are more than 20,000 different types of orchids, making it one of the largest flower families. The most commonly used for weddings: Phalaenopsis orchids, which are also known as "moth" orchids because of how the flower's fluttering appearance resembles a moth's wings; dendrobium orchids, which grow in a huge variety of shapes and colors; and cymbidium orchids, which are also known as boat orchids because of their shape.
