He may not be much of a ladies man on TV, but The Big Bang Theory star Kunal Nayyar aced the romance department with model and former Miss India Neha Kapur. The couple traveled back to their roots for a six-day wedding celebration in New Delhi, India in December of 2011. The cosmopolitan city is lined with world-class hotels set next to historic monuments, museums and ancient houses of worship, and incites wanderlust in all couples. While the capital buzzes, the ultra sleek Shangri-La Eros Hotel a peaceful escape from all the action. The Shangri-La’s 320 lavish guest rooms and suites are decorated with typical Asian furnishings along with comfy king-size beds and separate sitting areas; bathrooms are nearly palatial. Stay in one of the Horizon Club rooms, located on the top floors, and you’ll have access to special amenities, including a buffet breakfast at the Horizon Club Lounge and an exclusive concierge.

Book a personalized city tour and you’ll be guided around the city in a Rolls-Royce Phantom. Stops to historic sites may include seeing the India Gate, built in memory of deceased soldiers from World War I, touring the National Museum and its 5,000 years of Indian art and visiting the red sandstone Humayun’s Tomb of the Mughal Emperor. Afterward have the concierge reserve an astrological consultation or traditional Ayurvedic spa treatment.

For an Asian-fusion experience, dine at 19 Oriental Avenue, one of the hotel’s restaurants, which offers cuisine from China, Thailand and Japan (the chicken teriyaki with seasonal mixed vegetables and teriyaki balsamico sauce is a must-have). Or try the signature tuna wrap (seared tuna flakes with wasabi cream and arugula) at Café Uno, which overlooks the hotel’s free-form swimming pool and manicured gardens (room rates start at $350 a night; shangri-la.com).
