A Bold Move

Your groom will be the stand-out guy when he chooses accessories in a slightly brighter shade than those worn by his groomsmen. Here, we put the spotlight on him with a solid-colored vest and a striped tie, near left, both in a punchy shade of pink; for the groomsmen, we chose a paler hue for the vest, far left, and to pull the look together, a polka-dot tie in the same vivid pink as the groom’s. FLORAL NOTE: Calla lilies are sleek and stylish; add a dash more greenery (here, lamb’s-ear leaves) to your groom’s bud. Boutonnieres, this page, by Flowers of the World.

Want all the guys in the same color? Mix it up by playing with different patterns and textures. For instance, your guy might choose a vest and tie with an eye-catching pattern, such as this metallic-sage combo, far right, featuring a bold ombre diamond design. For his best pals, a more subtle jacquard pattern, near right, lends the appropriate stature to their coordinating accessories. Vests and ties by Baronshire. Groom’s shirt by Joseph Abboud Black Tie. FLORAL NOTE: For boutonnieres with a bit of muscle, pair ranunculus with fiddlehead ferns and lily grass.

Your groom will imbue a classic look with modern appeal when he and his groomsmen dress in complimentary shades of light and dark. We paired a pale-silver vest, near left, with a striped tie in a deeper silver hue for the groom; his buddies might sport a darker version of his ensemble with a pewter vest and tie, far left.

FLORAL NOTE: Orchids add textural interest to a basic color palette; add a sprig of something special to set your guy apart (here, we used dogwood). Vests and silk ties by Joseph Abboud Black Tie. Groom’s shirt by Joseph Abboud Black Tie. Groomsman’s shirt by Baronshire.
