Have I mentioned that I'm an indoorsy glamping kind of gal? I adore the great outdoors as long as high-thread count sheets and champs are involved. Admittedly, there is something so infinitely romantic about sleeping under the twinkle of stars. And there are days in the summer (or when I'm at the beach in Mexico) that I wish I could drag my mattress onto a verandah and slumber glampy, city-style.
The AKA Central Park, an extended stay hotel in NYC, read my mind and this summer is offering an outdoor urban camping option complete with Veuve, s'mores and a wood-burning fireplace. All you need to do is book the 17th floor penthouse suite two weeks in advance and tell the concierge how you like your martinis and aromatherapy candles. A telescope, among other amenities, is provided for some serious star (and voyeuristic) gazing.
Rates for the packages are about $3,000 a night; hotelaka.com.
