Bride-to-be Gena has been a loyal Swift fan since the very beginning. Over the years, the two have met several times and developed a friendship. Gena invited Swift to her wedding in May, but the singer had to turn her down — but vowed to attend the bridal shower.
"Apparently, they told Taylor she didn't have time, and she said 'No, I'm going to Ohio. I can't make the wedding, and I promised her,'" Gena wrote on Twitter. "The driver told my dad she planned the trip at 1 a.m. and said 'I need to be there, and I need to be on time.'"
But her presence wasn't her only present — Swift also showered the bride-to-be with baking-related gifts, including a KitchenAid mixer and homemade chocolate chip cookies (which she baked with Olympic figure skater Gracie Gold):
"Everyone who was there is saying how friendly and sweet Taylor was today. [My flower girl] Sophie said she can't wait to tell her class tomorrow," wrote Gena. "I had no idea Taylor was coming, it was a complete surprise. She's an incredible person and amazing friend."
