One Direction's Zayn Malik, 20, proposed to Little Mix singer Perrie Edwards, 19, during a rare private moment this Sunday, August 18th, according to Us Weekly. The British girl-group star proudly flashed her shiny new three-stone engagement ring at the premiere of One Direction's documentary film, This Is Us.
The bride-to-be's brother, Jonnie, confirmed the engagement on Twitter: "Right, My sister and Zayn ARE engaged! It's true! You seen the ring on the finger and all that Jazz! CONGRATS!!!"
Malik got the green light from family members prior to popping the question, which seems to have gone over well with Edwards' mother, Debbie."He did the traditional," Debbie said in an interview with Real Radio. "Asking me and then asking his mum and dad and everything, and it was fabulous, it was lovely... It's wonderful because Zayn's absolutely gorgeous and Perrie loves him to pieces. It's just perfect. They just get on so well and they understand each other."
Both alums of the British "X Factor," the pair met backstage during the show in 2011. For now, the couple is trying to stay hush-hush on any more details regarding their relationship, but we'll be keeping our ears open just in case!
