Before launching 3Floz, Kate wasn’t willing to give up her beauty regime and carried her full- sized beauty products everywhere she travelled. Alexi begrudgingly spent hours going store to store buying her beauty products in TSA approved sizes so she could carry on her luggage. They created 3floz.com in 2010 as a one stop shop for all of your favorite TSA friendly products. 3Floz ships internationally, including direct to hotels, and starting in August 2013 you'll find their automated retail machines in major airports through the US.
Pack Double-Duty Fashion Pieces
We love packing a few key items that can serve multiple uses, depending on the accessories we bring along. A belt can transform a beach cover-up into the perfect sunset cocktail outfit. A chunky statement necklace can bring a T-shirt and jeans ensemble out for the night.
Play it Safe With Footwear
Shoes can the hardest to pack. They awkwardly take up space in your suitcase, yet they can either make or break an outfit fashion-wise or ruin an off-the-beaten-path adventure trek if they’re not comfortable. When thinking about your outfits, remember that marriage is about feeling comfortable and in love with one person for the rest of your life. Find one dressy pair and one casual pair of shoes you’ve vetted beforehand for comfort. Marry them, and stay faithful.
Air Your Dirty Laundry
Pack lighter and extend the life of your special garments by bringing along travel packets of clothing detergent (like those from The Laundress) for delicate items, from cashmere to swimwear to that lingerie you invested in right before the wedding. We guarantee he’ll find it sexy to see your unmentionables hanging up in the bathrom — it’s a win-win.
Make a Memory with Fragrance
Fragrance has the most direct neurological path of all of your senses, meaning nothing can spark a memory or a feeling quicker than a familiar fragrance. We love bringing travel candles (like those from Archipelago Botanicals) with us to make any space feel more personal. Choose a new candle, perfume or lotion to bring on your travels that will forever remind you of your first vacation as a married couple.
Portion-Control Your Toiletries
Maybe we’re slightly OCD, but we find it quite satisfying when we’ve packed the exact right amount of product we need on our trip. In short, we love packets! From daily vitamins to portioned-out sunscreen, you can be confident you have just enough of what you need for each day of your trip — no more, no less. Plus, the flatness of a packet makes it easy to squeeze more products into the nooks and crannies of your suitcase.
Roll Your Clothes
We believe 100% in rolling your clothes when packing. In fact, rolling a necklace into a shirt is a great way to ensure that it doesn't get tangled in transit. And stash your jewelry and accessories in your shoes to save space in your suitcase.
Carry-on Musts
The general rule for your carry-on: Be sure to pack anything specific to you that could not be replaced abroad. We always make sure to pack prescriptions, contact lenses and/or glasses, lip balm, a facial moisturizer than could also work on hands in a pinch, a clean pair of underwear and socks, and an eye mask/
