Vera Wang is renowned for reinventing the status quo — check out last season's "think pink" collection for reference — but just when we thought we'd seen it all, she's pulled yet another surprise out of her ivory web lace sleeve!
For the first time in over 20 years, the famed designer didn't throw a live runway show during Bridal Fashion Week. Instead, she released a creative video interpretation of her Spring 2015 Collection on her website. Gordon Von Steiner, an up-and-coming fashion filmmaker and photographer, did the honors.
"The opportunity to create a visual and expressive experience of the clothes, as interpreted by my fashion vision, is a whole new way for me to communicate with not only brides, but women everywhere," Wang explained in a press release.
In an interview with Women's Wear Daily, she elaborated that the idea has been percolating for a very long time: "For years, for every runway show I have done, there has been a story and a point of view...But I couldn't seem to get that across in a traditional runway show," she said.
Message received. Not only do the new gowns feature fashion-forward details (including a crop top!), but the gothic context left us with goosebumps. Watch the video below and tell us what you think!
