Cameron Diaz and Benji Madden rang in 2015 with a surprise wedding!
"We couldn't be happier to begin our new journey together surrounded by our closest family and friends," the couple tells People. They tied the knot on January 5th at the bride's Beverly Hills estate, and a source reveals that they told neighbors a pre-Golden Globes party was taking place (to help keep it a secret).
The 42-year-old Annie actress and 35-year-old Good Charlotte guitarist exchanged vows in an intimate ceremony with 90 of their closest relatives and friends. Some famous faces in attendance included bridesmaids Nicole Richie and Drew Barrymore, and guests Reese Witherspoon, Gwyneth Paltrow, DJ Samantha Ronson and choreographer Robin Antin. Their nephew, Sparrow, served as the ring bearer.
Details haven't been released yet about the reception. However, we do know that the couple used the same vendors from pal Barrymore's nuptials to Will Kopelman, including wedding planners Yifat Oren and Stefanie Cove, and florist company The Velvet Garden. Their rehearsal dinner took place at home the previous evening and was catered by Lucques, a Mediterranean restaurant in the area.
Although Diaz famously stated that she wasn't necessarily "the marrying type," all of that changed during her whirlwind romance with Madden. In an interview with Cosmopolitan, she revealed "You have to find someone in the same place as you are. Timing is everything." The pair dated for seven months before getting engaged.
